⬛ COURTHOUSE Q&A

▀ EXCLUSIVE: ‘I'm Going To Get You!’: Knife-Brandishing Man Caught Menacing Neighbor Claims He Was Defending His Harassed Mom (Harlem, NY)

The suspect tells The Blotter that he was merely trying to get his neighbor to leave his mom alone, stating, ‘I feel like she is accusing my mom of stealing her bracelet or picking it up and that's not true.’

NAME: Jonah
AGE: 28
LOCATION: Harlem, NY
OCCUPATION: "Right now I don't work. I'm on public assistance, I have EBT and a voucher that is paying my rent."
RAPS: Menacing with a weapon, weapons possession with intent to use, and harassment (physical contact)

AFTER 8 HOURS in custody Jonah’s hair wasn’t exactly coiffed to his liking so he asked not to pose for a full-length photo.

The 28-year-old soft-spoken defendant stepped out of Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday clad in an orange prisoner’s gown draped over his beltless shorts (his paperwork stowedin one of the jumbo pockets), a T-shirt, sneakers (sans laces).

He was nabbed on July 28 in Harlem’s 32 Precinct and stands accused of menacing with a weapon, weapons possession with intent to use and harassment, (physical contact).

At arraignment, prosecutors laid out the charges agains Jonah.

They say cops were summoned to the man’s West 144th Street home back at around 5:30 p.m. by a woman neighbor.

‘Come get it. I'm going to get you.’

-Jonah, 28, allegedly shouted at neighbor he later claims was harassing his mother over a missing bracelet.

She claimed while attempting to enter her building that she was headed off by Jonah pacing in the hallway.

He allegedly was gripping a kitchen knife.

And when the neighbor tried to get around him to get into her apartment — Stewart allegedly dared her, “Come get it. I'm going to get you."

The scrambled police unit soon reached building and they cuffed Jonah.

The arraignment judge ordered to set the suspect free without bail, but issued an order of protection prohibiting any contact with the neighbor.

The Blotter: What are you accused of?

Jonah: Technically, I was accused of, well, being violent with a knife in the hallway to my neighbor, which is a lie. I don't think that was true. She (the judge) put a restraining order against me and now I have to stay away from her, no contact."

TB: What was your issue with the neighbor?

J: She kept harassing my mom about a bracelet and I'm trying to figure out why she kept asking my mom where her bracelet is. If you lost your bracelet, that's on you. I feel like she is accusing my mom of stealing her bracelet or picking it up and that's not true. It's not a lie. Now I'm going to avoid this woman of course, I don't want to go back to jail.

‘Technically, I was accused of, well, being violent with a knife in the hallway to my neighbor, which is a lie.’

-Jonah disputing accusations he was taunting his neighbor in the hallway of their building brandishing a kitchen knife.

TB: How long were you in the system for?

J: I was in for like eight hours.

TB: How was it in the holding cell?

‘Now I'm going to avoid this woman of course, I don't want to go back to jail.’

-Jonah vowing to respect a judge’s imposed order of protection to steer clear of his neighbor

J: In the holding cell, It was a drag. I'm not going to lie. The time it took, it was like a four hour wait. It was a drag. But I'm out and now, yeah.

TB: Any contact with the criminal justice system in the past? Yes I have. No prison time but like, hoping the train, (fare evasion in transit) what else did I get arrested for before? Stealing from Walgreens and H&M clothing store, I went stealing back in my day.

⬛ MANHATTAN

Lower Manhattan / Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn: Wanted Tagger Gets Two For One Collar

A MAN GETTING his comeuppance for an assault in Brooklyn was found to be wanted in Manhattan for vandalism.

The 29-year-old was defending against an assault rap at arraignment in Brooklyn back on July 8.

And when he was just about to get a whiff of fresh, free air once the judge cut him loose — Manhattan coppers were right there to receive him.

They took him back into custody and carpooled together over to Centre Street where the suspect had an outstanding warrant for marking up a subway wall.

The authorities say the same ruffian making noise in Brooklyn was extra liberal with a fat black marker back on April 7. He also notched a Queens hit on April 15 for unlawful sale of a subway fare card in transit.

They say he used it to sully a wall with the screed, “Bedroom Bully EBK” at the J/Z northbound platform at Centre and Chambers Street subway station.

The reference possibly is an homage to a randy 1992 Shabba Ranks track “Bedroom Bully”.

So he now faces the Brooklyn assault, the Queens subway card hustle, and the Manhattan tag (formally charged with making graffiti and criminal mischief).

Have to wonder if the Bronx or Staten Island are in the suspect’s sights next?

⬛ BROOKLYN

Crown Heights: Crack Fiend Busted For Hogging Subway Train Seats To Catch Some Zs

MORNING COMMUTERS filing onto a train stopping at the Franklin Avenue / Medgar Evers College stop were greeted by a gluttonous goon who decided he deserved an entire row.

The 61-year-old was lying down in the subway car back on June 17.

Cops were notified and approached the sleepyhead.

And once they searched his person they out popped a baggie of crack rocks.

The suspect was taken into custody and hit with taking up more than one seat in transit (yes, that’s actually a charge!) and criminal possession of a controlled substance (crack).

⬛ QUEENS

Queens Village: Punk Swiped Pal’s ID, Then Failed To Return Rented Beamer

WHO KNEW YOU could rent a car — and even a BMW — with a learner’s permit?

But that is exactly what happened with a 24-year-old.

Not only is a new driver, but he’s a scummy friend.

He allegedly took his friend’s identification and rented out a black BMW.

“It was my friend’s [sic] ID. I asked [sic] him to take the car for me.”

-24-year-old grifter and rental BMW crook

And when the 24-hour clock was up to return the ride back to the rental business — he kept it.

But he didn’t factor in that the car had GPS.

So authorities tracked the grifter’s rental parked at a home located on 125th Place and 91st Avenue.

Quizzed about why he took his friend for the rental hustle — he allegedly dodged.

“It was my friend’s [sic] ID,” he whined. “I asked [sic] him to take the car for me.”

He continued: “He had to go to work that day and I had his ID.”

The whole buddy borrowing ID yarn didn’t win over the authorities.

They took him down for several crimes including identity theft, grand larceny, and criminal impersonation.

⬛ STATEN ISLAND

St. George: Pyro Takes Pop At Arresting Police Officer

HIS INDEPENDENCE DAY clambake was cut short amid mounting complaints of the setting off of illicit fireworks.

And then he slugged a cop.

The 23-year-old man’s July 4 festivities had been stretching into the late evening.

He was blasting off fireworks from a Jersey Street residence and vexing neighbors’ eardrums.

Offices approached the incendiary and he didn’t take kindly to orders to quit the activities.

In fact, when facing the prospect of arrest, the suspect landed a cross to the officer’s jaw.

That punched his ticket to lockup.

And he was then charged with assault, resisting arrest, obstruct governmental administration, harassment, and unlawful possession, use or explode fireworks.
