The Blotter.* A roundup of happenings in Gotham’s mean streets (and from time to time the tri-state region). Each item provides a staticky glimpse into the sleepless city’s peripheral misdemeanors, felonies, and misadventures.

⬛ MANHATTAN

Yorkville: 2 Thugs Shakedown Uber Driver For Peanuts

AN UBER DRIVER was caught up in a situation where he feared for his life.

When the clock struck 4 a.m. on Oct. 12, two masked goons creeped up on the 37-year-old rideshare worker as he was stopped on 93rd Street off 1st Avenue.

The crooks, one wearing a hoodie and bubble jacket and the other dressed in a sweatshirt, dark hat and surgical mask — appeared to flash a pistol and ordered the driver to fork over his funds.

He complied and surrendered his wallet and phone.

The perps, later identified as men, 29 and 25, took off in a black sedan south on FDR Drive.

Investigators caught up to the pair on Jan. 13 and took them down for robbery and grand larceny.

⬛ THE BRONX

Longwood: McDonald’s Workers Thwart Bandit

HE CAME FOR fast cash and left with zip.

At around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 22, a 29-year-old desperado entered a McDonalds located on Hunts Point Avenue near Bruckner Boulevard.

Once inside, the suspect hopped over the counter and went straight for a register and grabbed handfuls of cash.

He then made his escape.

But while making his way out, two employees went Batman and intervened. They tried blocking him from leaving.

He started shoving them back.

The disarray caused the accused to drop a $20 bill.

Cops arrived and nailed the raider.

Asked to give his name and birthdate — and the suspect allegedly concocted a “false name”, according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors brought him up on assault, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, trespass, and false personation.

⬛ BROOKLYN

Williamsburg: Crack Fiend Mugged Man With Knife Handle And Fist Bludgeoning

MAYBE HE WAS tripping balls on crack?

A 53-year-old tough was squaring off with an older man outside a building on Division Avenue off Berry Street.

It was around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, when the suspect challenged the elder and landed a series of devastating blows with a knife handle and then wailed on him with several punches.

After the tuneup, the suspect snatched $190 from his rival’s pants pockets.

Cops netted the suspect and after searching him plucked six capsules of crack from his pockets.

He also alleged fibbed to quizzing cops his birthday by two decades before finally coming clean.

Wall Street Just Named the Most Crowded Trades of 2026

AI stocks. Metals. Crypto.

Surprise, surprise; gold crashed 16%. Silver plunged 34%. Bitcoin dropped to 1 year lows.

All supposedly "uncorrelated" assets moving in lockstep largely because of overleveraged margin.

JPM strategists warn that the same leverage is still a risk.

Those markets may be recovering now, but cascading liquidations could trigger quickly across several asset classes simultaneously.

So much for diversifying away risk, right?

But get this–

70,819 everyday investors have allocated $1.3 billion fractionally across 500+ exclusive investments.

Not real estate or PE… Blue-chip art. Sounds crazy, right?

Now it’s easy to invest in art featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso, thanks to Masterworks.

They do the heavy lifting from acquisition to sale, so you can diversify with the strategy typically limited to the ultra-wealthy.

(Past sales delivered net returns like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8% on works held longer than a year.)*

⬛ QUEENS

Jamaica: Perp Posing As Doc Molests 2 Patients In Legit Office

A MISERLY MOPE lurking in a doctor’s office duped two women into letting him fondle them.

The 34-year-old perv was in the doctor’s office located on Parsons Boulevard and 90th Avenue on the afternoon of Nov. 6.

There, authorities say he craftily pretended to be a legit M.D. to examine two women, a 37-year-old and a 27-year-old.

Each endured a disgraceful act of perversion at the hands of the perp.

In both cases the faux doc grabbed and squeezed the womens’ breasts and then placed his knee between their legs and touched their genitals.

He then placed their hands on his penis.

Each patient was distressed after the molestations.

The suspect was picked up on Jan. 15, must answer for the set of charges involving forcible touching, sex abuse, harassment, and criminal impersonation.

Authorities have been asking if other potential victims, if they exist, come forward.

⬛ STATEN ISLAND

New Springville: Pants Dropper Chases Woman Around Shopping Mall

A SICKO DROPPED trou and blurted out vulgarities in front of a horrified woman.

The 20-year-old was allegedly wandering around the Staten Island Mall at around noon on Feb. 26 when he trailed and ogled a woman.

As she entered a particular corridor, he allegedly pulled down his pants and exposed his privates and professed his affections to the 24-year-old woman whom he didn’t know.

All of it grossed her out.

The disturbed stranger then ran from the fiend to find help. Cops moved in to capture the creep.

The sicko, hailing from Bay Ridge, was taken away and charged with lewdness, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
