Upper East Side: Pyro Set Clothing Alight Inside Mosque

A FIRESTARTER WAS lassoed after kindling a blaze inside the Islamic Cultural Center of New York.

At around 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 2, the 40-year-old woman was captured on CCTV storming into a prayer room inside the city’s first mosque.

She was then seen laying several articles of clothing and prayer rugs.

She then took a lighter and set them on fire.

The footage shows the woman fleeing from the mosque located on Third Avenue and East 96th Street.

Firefighters arrived to put out the blaze and determined quickly that it was caused by arson.

The woman, who is believed to be a stranger to the mosque was tracked down on Aug. 21.

Claremont: Knife-Swinging Mope Caught 3 Years After Snatching Lighter From Woman’s Hands, Slugging Her Face And Stealing Wallet

A SCUMBAG DECIDED a woman’s lighter should become his property.

So he took it.

And when the woman fought back, he set her straight with a combination of devastating punches before ripping her off.

The wretch, 40, charged at a woman while in the vicinity of Gouverneur Playground back at around 12:45 a.m. on Aug. 11.

The 37-year-old lunged at the woman’s lighter.

When he ripped it from her grasp — she tried to grab it back.

They then started verbally sparring and that prompted the deviant to unleash a flurry of punches to her face.

That brought the woman to crumble to her knees.

As she was suffering and in a dazed state — the perp pilfered her wallet.

In it, there were two sets of car keys, various credit and debit cards, and $1,245 cash.

The woman was rushed to a hospital to tend to her shiner and other wounds.

Tireless cops tracked down the perp after three years.

On July 22, the suspect was formally arraigned on robbery (with a dangerous instrument), assault with a weapon, and grand larceny from a person.

Flushing: Driver Dinged Muling 300 LBS. Of Marijuana After Totaling Car

A NUMBSKULL WAS busted with bushels and bushels of kine buds.

The 31-year-old opened himself up to heap of trouble after smashing his 2026 Chrysler into a Shell gas station.

The cannabis clown had wrecked his car while zipping along Northern and Parsons Boulevards.

The driver had caused such a bad crash that the machine had become shattered all over the road, according to the criminal complaint.

When cops arrived they found what was left of the ride contained an extensive cargo made up of several black bags.

The driver claimed they were his and the satchels were filled with his clothing.

But when they peeked inside they didn’t find trousers or poplins — but a remarkable amount of Maui Wowie.

And so beyond finding himself carless the suspect was pinched with criminal possession of cannabis.

Great Kills: Sloshed Driver Who Struck Pedestrian Claimed ‘I Did Not Have Anything To Drink’

A SCUMBAG RAN his pickled mouth after he was caught fleeing after clipping a person.

The 49-year-old was driving back on the night of June 11.

He allegedly crossed through the intersection of Great Hills and Amoboy Roads.

He allegedly struck the person and didn’t stop to check the status of the victim nor reach out for help.

Instead, the suspect kept driving away.

Cops caught up to the driver and after he was blood tested — they determined his blood alcohol level was .28 or three times the legal limit.

But the suspect claimed he was sober as a Morman.

“I was coming from home,” he exclaimed. “Going to my mom’s house.”

Pressed about his liquid dieting that night, the suspect deflected.

“I haven’t had anything to drink,” he submitted. “I was traveling up from my house.”

He kept preaching his sobriety, stating “I did not have anything to drink.”

The perp was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury, DWI (two prior convictions in the past 10 years,) assault and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle offense).
