Tip Jar:

The Blotter.* A roundup of happenings in Gotham’s mean streets (and from time to time the tri-state region). Each item provides a staticky glimpse into the sleepless city’s peripheral misdemeanors, felonies, and misadventures.

⬛ MANHATTAN

Midtown: Artful Dodger’s Feasts At KFC After Times Square Bump And Dip

A CUNNING CROOK pulled off a slick score at the Crossroads of the World”.

The 31-year-old woman was allegedly fixed on her mark back inside the 8th Avenue/West 42nd Street subway station on the early morning of June 16 of last year.

Her target was a woman straphanger who claims she was inside the station when the suspect allegedly collided into her.

After the jarring distraction that was devised by the suspect, the traveler wakled to the MetroCard machine and it was then she realized her shoulder bag was ajar.

She was aghast when her wallet, cash, and credit cards were gone.

The victim reported the theft and investigators tracked the victim’s credit card swiped at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Queens.

Some time passed until Feb. 11 when the woman appeared in court and on a June 19 bust for grand larceny (she pleaded not guilty) and that’s when cops were ready to fit her with cuffs.

That same day she was processed on criminal possession of stolen property (credit cards), grand larceny from a person, and grand larceny (credit cards).

⬛ THE BRONX

Morrisania: Human Disaster Floods Woman’s Home

HE’S A HUMAN tsunami.

A 63-year-old homewrecker was caught barging into her home and creating a plumbing nightmare.

It was around 10 p.m. on Dec. 19, when the accused entered the home on Grant Avenue off East 165th Street.

He allegedly scared her by threatening to punch the woman in the face.

Then he hooked up a garden hose to an outside faucet and flipped the water valve ON and then flooded the woman’s flat.

The drenching led to the suspect to get slammed with criminal contempt, menacing, and harassment.

And he gave her a hell of a repair bill.

⬛ BROOKLYN

Sunset Park: Gambling And Drug Speakeasy Wheeling And Dealing Across Street From Mormon Church Raided

THEY MIGHT AS WELL have been mocking the mormons across the street.

A crew of enterprising lowlifes was caught entertaining high rollers with games of chance and plenty of synthetic drugs (not to mention some safely kept guns).

And all of the illicit operations occurring in a nondescript five-story brick building directly across the street from the gambling-averse, caffeine-banning, and abstinence-before-marriage-faithful Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward.

The Blotter’s attempts to reach the church as well as neighbors of the clandestine casino were unsuccessful.

It was game over at 6 p.m. on Jan. 20. That’s when cops raided the den inside the building on 60th Street off 8th Avenue.

Brooklyn’s Church of Latter-day Saints 3rd Ward

Once inside, cops wrangled the supposed 27–year-old ringleader along with his accomplices, 38, 50, and 40, and confiscated 19 gambling machines.

They also discovered three Ziploc baggies — each loaded with crystal meth and Molly.

As for security, the suspects allegedly leaned on their own hardware.

Specifically, cops found a black loaded Ruger pistol tucked in a jacket of one of the perps along with a Michael Kors bag filled with an assortment of ammo with various calibers.

Keen gumshoes exposed a compartment in an office ceiling where there were two more irons including a Hermann Weirach 357 Magnum revolver and a loaded 9mm ghost gun with 12 rounds in the mag.

None of the suspects were able to provide permits to justify the lethal force.

Further, two of them were convicts. The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to menacing and the 38-year-old went down on a guilty plea for harassment.

The Blotter has been leading coverage of brazen gambling dens cropping up and getting found out and then shuttered throughout the five boroughs.

Bay Terrace: Ghoul Chokes Senior In Raging Row

SOMETHING WENT DOWN between two men that brought them to blows.
Or at least the younger one choking out the elder.

A 63-year-old man was allegedly attacked by a 42-year-old.

The younger lad allegedly put the victim in a headlock and choked him, according to the criminal complaint.

The move caused the older man to suffer extreme pain to his throat and impaired his ability to swallow.

It also freaked him the hell out.

The alleged choker was taken to the dance with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, assault, aggravated harassment, and harassment.
