⬛ COURTHOUSE Q&A
▀ EXCLUSIVE: Smack Withdrawal Stricken Man Pleads Down After Caught Stealing Batteries To Play Video Games
The man, visibly dealing with shakes from heroin and alcohol said he ‘just wanted to get out.’

NAME: Shan
AGE: 57
FROM: The Bronx
ARREST TIME/DATE: 4 p.m. / 08/05/26
LOCATION: CVS (West 57th Street)
RAPS: Petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property
Shan was accused of entering the Midtown CVS at around 4 p.m. on Aug. 5.
Store security spotted the theft of batteries and alerted cops from Midtown North Precinct.
Afterward, he told The Blotter he wanted to get the batteries to power up his phone so he could play video games.
The accused pleaded down to a disorderly conduct charge.
Shan still has a pending July 5 arrest for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the 6th Precinct, for which he was wanted on a bench warrant for at the time of his CVS bust.
He also has an open July 12 summons for disorderly conduct in transit for blocking more than one seat, interrupting movement of passengers.
Stepping out of 100 Centre Street disheveled, his long hair especially unruly, and wearing sweatpants (that kept falling down), lace-less sneakers (authorities removed the laces and the string that holds the sweatpants in lockup so the defendant can't hang himself or be used as a weapon), and a plastic hospital bracelet — he left court with a bag of chips, a plastic juice bottle, and a MetroCard courtesy of his public defender.
He was barely able to walk due to the crutching withdrawals coming off both heroin and alcohol.
The guilty plea is a violation (it's not a criminal charge and will be expunged from his criminal record).
He was sentenced to one court mandated educational program, which is to be completed before Oct. 15.
Shan must return to court with a certificate of compliance or face arrest again.
The outstanding bench warrant was dismissed.

▀ EXCLUSIVE: ‘I'm Going To Get You!’: Knife-Brandishing Man Caught Menacing Neighbor Claims He Was Defending His Harassed Mom (Harlem, NY)
The suspect tells The Blotter that he was merely trying to get his neighbor to leave his mom alone, stating, ‘I feel like she is accusing my mom of stealing her bracelet or picking it up and that's not true.’

NAME: Jonah
AGE: 28
LOCATION: Harlem, NY
OCCUPATION: "Right now I don't work. I'm on public assistance, I have EBT and a voucher that is paying my rent."
RAPS: Menacing with a weapon, weapons possession with intent to use, and harassment (physical contact)
AFTER 8 HOURS in custody Jonah’s hair wasn’t exactly coiffed to his liking so he asked not to pose for a full-length photo.
The 28-year-old soft-spoken defendant stepped out of Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday clad in an orange prisoner’s gown draped over his beltless shorts (his paperwork stowedin one of the jumbo pockets), a T-shirt, sneakers (sans laces).
He was nabbed on July 28 in Harlem’s 32 Precinct and stands accused of menacing with a weapon, weapons possession with intent to use and harassment, (physical contact).
At arraignment, prosecutors laid out the charges agains Jonah.
They say cops were summoned to the man’s West 144th Street home back at around 5:30 p.m. by a woman neighbor.
‘Come get it. I'm going to get you.’
She claimed while attempting to enter her building that she was headed off by Jonah pacing in the hallway.
He allegedly was gripping a kitchen knife.
And when the neighbor tried to get around him to get into her apartment — Stewart allegedly dared her, “Come get it. I'm going to get you."
The scrambled police unit soon reached building and they cuffed Jonah.
The arraignment judge ordered to set the suspect free without bail, but issued an order of protection prohibiting any contact with the neighbor.
The Blotter: What are you accused of?
Jonah: Technically, I was accused of, well, being violent with a knife in the hallway to my neighbor, which is a lie. I don't think that was true. She (the judge) put a restraining order against me and now I have to stay away from her, no contact."
TB: What was your issue with the neighbor?
J: She kept harassing my mom about a bracelet and I'm trying to figure out why she kept asking my mom where her bracelet is. If you lost your bracelet, that's on you. I feel like she is accusing my mom of stealing her bracelet or picking it up and that's not true. It's not a lie. Now I'm going to avoid this woman of course, I don't want to go back to jail.
‘Technically, I was accused of, well, being violent with a knife in the hallway to my neighbor, which is a lie.’
TB: How long were you in the system for?
J: I was in for like eight hours.
TB: How was it in the holding cell?
‘Now I'm going to avoid this woman of course, I don't want to go back to jail.’
J: In the holding cell, It was a drag. I'm not going to lie. The time it took, it was like a four hour wait. It was a drag. But I'm out and now, yeah.
TB: Any contact with the criminal justice system in the past? Yes I have. No prison time but like, hoping the train, (fare evasion in transit) what else did I get arrested for before? Stealing from Walgreens and H&M clothing store, I went stealing back in my day.

⬛ MANHATTAN
▀ Midtown: Check Fraudster Admits ‘These Are All Fake!’
HIS CHARISMA SUPERPOWER did a number on a bank customer.
One has to wonder what this 51-year-old waxed back, at around closing time on July 14 when he was loitering outside a Chase Bank branch on Lexington Avenue and East 60th Street.
Authorities say the suspect pulled the wool over a customer — asking if he would deposit a check on his behalf.
The customer swelling with naivite, apparently was willing to do the man a solid and went ahead to deposit the check, bearing the amount of $2,130.
‘These are all fake.’
The bank soon informed the customer that the check was “bad” and “could not be processed”, according to the criminal complaint.
The suspect fled the scene after his money grab yielded zip.
Cops caught up to him six days later.
They collected 17 other fraudulent checks that he allegedly had in his possession.
Pressed about them, he admitted, “These are all fake.”
He was nailed for forgery, grand larceny, and criminal possession of a forgery instrument.

⬛ THE BRONX
▀ Shorehaven: Piss Poor Aiming Punk Pops Off
HE COULDN’T HIT pinata even without a blindfold.
A no good sap is facing heavy years for taking target practice in the vicinity of a crowd.
The 21-year-old went ape shit at around 5:30 p.m. on June 10 located on Gildersleeve Avenue.
He was witnessed squeezing off five successive shots towards a crowd.
Fortunately for all of the innocents — the shooter couldn’t hit a lick. And not one of the fired bullets struck anybody.
It remains uncertain what provoked the zero from drawing fire.
The suspect was taken into custody and brought up on attempted murder, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a loaded weapon, and assault.
Cops are still on the hunt for two men who stole away and are believed to have some skin in the melee.
▀ Sobering Snag (Bronx/Manhattan, NY)

AN NYC-BOUND MULE traveling casual with some provisions and 40-pounds of blow will be mulling over his actions for 14 years.
All compliments of a jury of his peers.
Prosecutors from the NYC Special Narcotics Prosecutor's Office were able to convince a jury that Carlos Almonte Palmers, 45, of hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts, that he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
He was sentenced on Aug. 6.
Palmers rolled the dice to take his case to trial.
During the two-week trial, prosecutors were able to expose the trafficker’s goings-on dating back to March 13, 2024.
Investigators set up a sting and keeping tabs on Palmers moving product into the five boroughs.
They tailed his Jeep Grand Cherokee as it traveled southbound on Interstate-95, from Connecticut to the Empire State border.
The surveillance continued into the Bronx then Manhattan and spanned over the George Washington Bridge into New Jersey. They were watching when his Jeep stopped at a truck stop in Secaucus, at about 7 p.m., pulled alongside a tractor trailer and after a brief stop, returned back to Gotham.
The suspicion Palmers had transacted a deal — authorities moved in and stopped the Jeep on the Major Deegan Expressway and the Cross Bronx Parkway exit in Yonkers.
A warranted search revealed a duffel bag filled with 20-kilos of puro (nearly 45 pounds with a street value of $1 million).
Palmers already had a previous ding for drug sales in the Bronx and had served eight years hard time.
He had been deported from the States to the Dominican Republic upon his release from prison in 2022 and then got back in the game by setting up shop in Massachusetts and making daytrip drug runs to NYC.

⬛ BROOKLYN
▀ Shooting That Paralyzed Man Reclassified As Homicide Following His Death 25 Years Later (Brooklyn, NY)
A QUARTER CENTURY after getting paralyzed in a Brooklyn shooting, a man has passed away.
And the death has now been reclassified a murder.
Nurlan John, 23, of Borough Park, Brooklyn took a slug to the neck while he was standing on Eastern Parkway near Schenectady Avenue on the morning of Sept. 29, 2000.
He survived the shooting but was paralyzed as a result, police said.
A teenage boy, who was charged with assault and a 17-year-old girl was spared initially for just weapons possession.
The motive for the shooting was never understood.
John died nearly 25 years to the day of the shooting, on Sept. 23, 2025. A
n autopsy determined the cause of death to be cardiovascular disease resulting from the gunshot wound he suffered which caused a spinal cord injury.
The city Medical Examiner issued the final death certificate on Aug. 4 officially ruling the cause of death to be homicide.
Technically, the homicide would be investigated by detectives and prosecutors would proceed to pursue a murder charge, however such cases are hard to prosecute due to a lack of witnesses and evidence all these years later.
The NYPD recorded 673 murders in the year 2000, according to department statistics. That's a far cry from the current number of murders citywide as of August 9, there were 153 murders, a drop of 25% over the same period last year.
Police said they typically receive 20 deaths which are reclassified homicides by the Medical Examiner every year, including someone who dies from a previous injury, sometimes days later in the hospital.
Although rare, a reclassification from an injury sustained a multiple decades earlier has occurred before, police said.
▀ Prospect Heights / Borough Park: Rowdy Goon Incites Riot Inside Police Precinct Lockup Boasting ‘I’m A Crip Killer’

HE MIGHT HAVE countless death wishes.
An instigator locked up for roughing up an elder man tried to go rambo inside a holding cell — and then when he was isolated to prevent him from being pulled apart from each of his limbs — he tried to bait cops to throw down.
The 36-year-old landed himself in police custody for showing off his brawn.
The younger bully was looking for trouble back on the night of July 4.
He allegedly had a 67-year-old man in his sights while strolling around 17th Street and Church Avenue and landed a devastating forearm to the senior’s temple.
‘I will fuck you guys up. I’m GDK [Gangster Disciple Killer]. I’m a crip killer. I’m from here.’
Once he was dumped in a holding cell at the 66th Precinct where he attempted to challenge the 15 or so other inmates breathing the same air.
“I will fuck you guys up,” he belted, according to the criminal complaint. “I’m GDK [Gangster Disciple Killer]. I’m a crip killer.
“I’m from here.”
It’s unclear if he meant he was from this part of Brooklyn or if he was so frequently locked up that this jail cell was like his home and the others were essentially trespassing.
The suspect then threw up some gang signs provoking the other inmates.
This incited the other and a riot resulted with every perp wanting a piece of the blusterer.
He was then removed from the cell and tossed into an adjacent one separate from the rest of the riled up jailbirds.
And he continued picking fights, even through the cell bars.
The cops then had to extricate the suspect.
He was transported to the 70th Precinct and again made a massive fuss when authorities attempted to fingerprint and process him.
At Central Booking the perp again refused to play ball.
‘You should come in here and fight me.’
For 30 minutes he acted up and wouldn’t enter the criminal court . Then when authorities attempted to print and process him again — the suspect put up fits for almost three hours.
For almost a 24 stretch, the maniacal prisoner fought and fought against every ask and formality.
By 8 a.m. the next day he was finally fingerprinted.
An officer offered the man a cup of water.
When the suspect received it he tossed it back at the officer and growled, “You should come in here and fight me.”
The suspect was nailed for the original elderly assault, as well as harassment, disorderly conduct (violent behavior) and disorderly conduct (unreasonable noise).
If only they had a charge for being an unbearable human.

His moral turpitude took place at around 7 p.m. when a woman entered Pates Jeanty Bakery located on Hempstead Avenue.
The bigshot with the pea-sized brain allegedly lowered his pants where he unwrapped his dick without a box.
Then he blabbed some nasty nonsense.
‘Do you want to do it doggy style. I have a condom.’
“Do you want to do it doggy style,” he allegedly queried the woman, adding, “I have a condom.”
The woman was aghast. And her instant rejection of the offer was reported to the police.
Six days later a scrambled a police unit captured the lecherous imbecile.
And when he was quizzed of some basic pedigree, the perp allegedly maximized his intelligence to supply officers with a fake name.

So that tacked on a false personation charge to his harassment and public lewdness raps.
